I’m a designer, art director, animator/editor, musician, culinary enthusiast and devoted lover of the sublime raw emotion and subtle aggression of all poignant art, hailing from Los Angeles, CA. I’ve been lucky enough to do what I love and bring many brand stories to life and create meaningful content that's culturally relevant for over 20 years.
I grew up in Flint, Michigan playing guitar, obsessing about the visceral and fantastic visuals of horror/science fiction, the bombacity of classic rock and drawing on whatever I could find until my pencils broke. I studied the fine arts and avante gardé design and installation in college and graduate studies. I started my career in digital arts as a design director for Michigan State University and moved to Los Angeles to become the design and art director for LA Weekly at age 26, overhauling the artistic footprint of the journalistic keystone. Since then, I have been lucky enough to work with amazing clients and brands in entertainment, music, fashion and technology such as Hautelook, Style Network, TMZ, POP TV and many independent films, musicians and cultural events. Most recently I have been the senior creative for Boingo Wireless, working on digital, mobile, brand identity, environmental, internal job culture ephemera and presentation design.
Leading concepts and stories from pitch to hands-on design across all marketing mediums is the way I approach any project while retaining my passion for taking inspiration from every sign, artifact, prose, classical painting or fashion moray I run across in my life that I can to use to develop an unexpected approach to the client’s vision. Positioning myself for varying challenges in new artistic environments and genres, as well as consistently fast-paced work environments is second nature to me.
If I’ve caught your eyes through the work here-in - or even if you just want to pick my brain a bit deeper - I'd love the chance to open up an exciting and game-changing visual solution and a moreover, a new creative relationship.
